The project aimed to assess dietary exposure of heavy metals in food with Total Diet Study (TDS) approach.

The scope was the assessment of heavy metals contents (Pb, Cd, As, Hg, Mo, Cu, Fe) targeting the key food items commonly consumed in Yerevan to identify major sources of heavy metal exposure.

Expected Outcome:

Identification of significant contributors to heavy metal exposure and highlighting the areas requiring continuous monitoring. The findings can have significant contribution for risk based inspections and further research on heavy metal exposure at the national level.
