The main goal of the proposed project is aimed to collect and evaluate the available data on the distribution of zoonotic diseases and their animal reservoirs in South Caucasus region. To reveal the spatial variation in the distribution of zoonoses in the region and mapping zoonotic diseases try provide a baseline for risk assessments of protective measures provided at national and regional scales.
Expected results:
- Novel methodology for identifying areas at risk for diverse pathogens;
- Enhanced surveillance to identify cases of diseases in people and animals; and
- Tools for modernized forecasting of emerging infections.
