The aim of the project is a complex study of the peculiarities of the spatio-temporal distribution, ecological and health risks of atmospheric particulate matter (PM), dust and associated potentially toxic elements (PTE) in Yerevan using different methodological approaches, and the development of risk reduction measures. In order to achieve the project goal, the following objectives have been defined:

  1. assessment and mapping of geochemical, sanitary and hygienic and potential risks of PM, dust and associated PTE on the whole territory of Yerevan;
  2. study and reveal the peculiarities of PM, dust and associated PTE in model objects (green areas, streets, kindergartens, indoor and outdoor dust) selected in different functional areas of Yerevan;
  3. study of elemental composition of PM and dust and individual particles (PM2. 5; PM10; metal-bearing), identification of potential sources of pollution;
  4. development of measures for mitigation of identified risks and their presentation to authorized bodies and dissemination of obtained results.

The results obtained includes the maps of geochemical, sanitary and hygienic and potential risks of PM, dust and associated PTE.
