Lilit Sahakyan was re-elected to the position of director of CENS

On May 24 Dr. Lilit Sahakyan was re-elected to the position of director of the Center for Ecological-Noosphere studies NAS RA (CENS).

Dr. Sahakyan presented the main scientific directions, implemented scientific and educational programs and development strategy of CENS. CENS conducts applied and fundamental interdisciplinary research in the fields of ecology, environmental protection, food safety, agriculture, using the latest remote sensing and information technologies. The educational component of the center is aimed at the implementation of master's, postgraduate and non-formal education.

The development plan of the center envisages:

• Fundamental and applied, interdisciplinary researches, development of new directions, expansion
• Transition to the electronic control system
• Strengthening the material and technical base, including especially the re-equipment of the laboratory
• Scientific-educational activities and improvement of personnel qualifications, development of the educational component
• International integration and innovative, economic activity
• Re-equipment, reconstruction of the chemical laboratory - restoration of accreditation - solving the issue of additional space
• Maintaining the rate of growth of scientific efficiency
• Raising the public level of science, creating a new website
• Activation of social programs
• Renaming of the center after founding director, Professor Armen Saghatelyan.
