Food Risk and Benefit Assessment: Seminar Discussion

On March 21, a seminar-discussion on Risk-benefit Assessment of Food Products (RBA) was held in CENS.
The event was opened with a welcoming speech by Lilit Sahakyan, Director of CENS.
The speakers presented the following topics:
- International framework of RBA and the potential of NAS RA – Meline Beglaryan, Head of the Food Security and Nutrients Assessment Group of Food Chain Risk Assessment Center at CENS.
- Risk assessment of chlorpyrifos – Taron Kareyan, Laboratory Researcher of Food Chain Risk Assessment Center at CENS.
- International significance of RBA for Armenia – Davit Pipoyan, Head of Informational-Analytical Center for Risk Assessment of Food Chain at CENS.
The event was attended by specialists from Armenia’s relevant government agencies in the fields of food security, food safety, nutrition, and foodborne diseases.
Discussions focused on the role of RBA in the development of healthy nutrition strategies and the possibilities for enhancing scientific capacity in this field in Armenia.
