CENS leads this project aimed at implementation of complex ecogeochemical studies on the territory of Gyumri. The project tasks are pedogeochemical survey and mapping, determination of background contents in respect of the territory of Gyumri, assessment of peculiarities of distribution of heavy metal (Pb, Cu, Zn, Ni, Cr, Co, Mo, Ag, Hg, As, Cd)  contents in soils, indication of geochemical series of heavy metals in soils, indication of primary soil pollutants and major sources of pollution, indication of  geochemical peculiarities of separate functional zones of the city, assessment of peculiarities of dust distribution, assessment of heavy metal contents in surface waters in geochemical and sanitary and hygienic terms, site zonation according to different levels of pollution and ecological risks, identification of risk groups in the population, provision of relevant information to stakeholders.
